OPTIONAL Step 5 -- Adding Voice Support

Modem voice functionality is supported by Unimodem/V. Unimodem/V supplies the following new features (as compared to Unimodem):

• Wave playback and record to/from the phone line.
• Wave playback and record to/from the handset.
• Speakerphone capability.
• Caller ID.
• Distinctive ringing.
• Call forwarding.
• Operator application, which assists in determining the media mode of an incoming call.

Your voice modem may support a few or all of these features. This documentation topic describes the INF file entries you must add to your modem INF file to install these features. This primarily involves putting the information in the registry that Unimodem/V needs to carry out each of these features, but there are a few other things you must do, too.
