In Microsoft Query 2000 and later, you can edit and delete records that are already present in the database; but you can't change the sequence of the records and you can't use Query to add records to databases that you access by using either the Microsoft Excel driver or the Microsoft text driver.
Work directly in the database If you need to copy a record, open the database directly, and use the commands provided by the database. For information and instructions, see the administrator for your database.
Sort the records in Query You can change the order of the records in the result set by using the Sort command on the Records menu. Sorting in Microsoft Query does not affect the underlying database, only the result set. For more information, click .
