Virtual Directory: sxh
For this tutorial, we use an Internet Information Services (IIS) Web server hosted on the local host. Make sure IIS is installed on your machine before you continue.
To set up a virtual directory
- Create a directory, such as c:\XMLOverHTTP, to map to this virtual directory.
- Open IIS.
- Navigate to Web Sites -> Default Web Site, and right-click.
- Select New and click Virtual Directory... to open the Virtual Directory Creation Wizard.
- Click Next.
- Enter "sxh" under Alias. Then click Next.
- Click Browse... and navigate to the directory you created in Step 1. Click Next.
- Accept the default access permissions by clicking Next.
- Click Finish.
Next, we'll add the resource file, contacts.xml, to the directory you created in Step 1.
