To resize the HDTV desktop

Note: These instructions apply to Windows XP. For Windows Vista and later, see Resize my desktop - Windows Vista and later.

  1. From the NVIDIA Control Panel navigation tree pane, under Display, click Adjust desktop size and position to open the associated page.

  2. Click the image that represents your HDTV.

  3. Open the Resize user interface.

Select the Resize my desktop radio button, then click Resize Desktop.

  4. Use the sliders to adjust the size of the display until you get the desired result.

The new resolution is indicated below the sliders.

  5. Click OK.

The new resolution is applied and added to the list of resolutions for this display in the Change Resolutions page.  The resolution is also added to the resolution list within the game or application where you can select it the next time you play the game.

  6. To control the desktop resize state that the driver reports to the HDTV, click the Select the desktop resizing mode reported to the display list arrow and then click one of the options.

This option applies only to HDMI monitors (not treated as DVI) and GPUs that support AVI infoframes.  Supported monitors will then use the information to adjust the screen to best fit the display.

Note: Resizing your HDTV desktop may cause video playback to be cropped.
