Creating a New Project

There are several ways to add a new Project:

  1. Wizard. Click the Wizard button on the Ribbon (Home tab). Then follow the step-by-step instructions to fine tune your download.

  2. New button. Click New on the Ribbon Home tab and double-click on the Project icon, or select the New... on the Application Button menu. Complete the necessary information in the Properties dialog box and click OK.

  3. Copy and Paste and the Clipboard. Paste a URL (Web address) or copy a Project from the Clipboard. Add a Web address by choosing Paste from the Ribbon - Home tab. All Properties except the pasted URL will be set by default.

Portable Offline Browser will paste new Projects automatically if "Advanced | Integration | Monitor clipboard" is checked in the Options dialog.

  4. Import Favorites. A Project can be imported from Netscape Navigator, Netscape Communicator Bookmarks, Microsoft Internet Explorer Favorites or Opera HotLists. Click Import button on the Ribbon Home tab, browse through the menus and click on a URL. A new Project will be created using all the default Properties information, except for the URL and Caption.

  5. Drag-and-Drop. Drag a URL from your WWW browser to the Projects tree in Portable Offline Browser and a new Project will be created with the dropped URL. All other Properties information will be set by default.

Every new Project will appear in the selected Folder or in the topmost Default Folder if no folder has been selected. (The Default Folder may be renamed if you like.) Unless otherwise specified, each new Project will use the Default Template, which can be changed at any time by selecting Templates from the Application Button menu. The Project Properties can be accessed by clicking the Properties button on the Ribbon Home tab or by using the Properties entry on the Project context menu. The context menu can be accessed by right-clicking on any entry in the Project tab.
