To use the internal dialer in Portable Offline Browser, enable it and set its properties in the Options dialog, Internet | Dial Up section.
To enable the dialer, check the Enable internal dialer box.
When enabled, the dialer will initiate the selected Internet dial-up connection and call the Internet Service Provider when any Project is started.
The following dialer settings are available:
Select connection
To initiate a connection with an Internet Service Provider, Portable Offline Browser uses the standard Windows connections in the folder My Computer | Remote access. If you don’t have that folder, you should set up the corresponding Windows service. Portable Offline Browser uses the provided username and password, so before using the Portable Offline Browser dialer ensure that the connection is working.
Login name
When calling an Internet Service Provider, Portable Offline Browser will use the provided username and password. If they are required, please put the login here.
Password
When calling an Internet Service Provider, Portable Offline Browser will use the provided username and password. If they are required, please put the password here.
Retry broken connection
This parameter determines how many times the dialer will try to restore a broken modem connection.
Interval between attempts
The Remote computer could be busy or not answering calls temporarily. Please set this parameter so the number of dial attempts will not be exhausted too quickly.
You can also use External dialer for non-modem connections, like DSL, Satellite, etc. Simply place path and filename of the dialer program with its parameters to the corresponding dial and hangup boxes.
By default, Portable Offline Browser waits 20 seconds for the external dialer to initialize. If you need more delay, specify it in the command line:
c:\dir\ext_dialer.exe /param1 /param2 /delay=50
Where 50 is the delay in seconds.
