Binding Edge

Note: Some features are only supported by specific printers, operating systems, or driver types (PostScript or PCL). You may see more features or options listed than what your specific system supports.

Binding edge is used to specify if the finishing selected for a job should apply to the long edge or short edge of the selected media. This option expands the choices a user has since media sizes, such as Letter/A4, can have the selected finishing applied to either the long or short edge.

To select a binding edge, click Binding Edge and select one of the following:

• Automatic (Recommended): Use for paper that the printer can bind on the long edge or short edge.
• Bind on Long Edge: Use for paper that the printer can only bind on the long edge.
• Bind on Short Edge: Use for paper that the printer can only bind on the short edge.
