104 All PBSLs in the PCU Are Faulty

Description

This alarm is reported when the link between the BSC and the PCU are disrupted.

Attribute

Alarm ID Alarm Severity Alarm Type
104 Critical Fault

Parameters

ID Name Meaning
1 PCU No.

The number of the PCU whose links are disrupted

2 Alarm Attribute

0=Normal, Alarms period are longer than the Transient Threshold.

1=Transient Count, The times and the period of the alarms whose periods are shorter than the Transient Threshold are summed up. If the sum result is longer than the Alarm Occurrence Period Threshold or Alarm Occurrence Times Threshold, an alarm so called Transient Count Alarm is triggered. Because Transient Count Alarm is based on accumulative result, the recovery of the alarm may occur at least one Summing Cycle later. The Summing Cycle can be query by MML "LST STATSLDWIN".

Impact on the System

The users in the cells that belong to the PCU are out of packet services.

System Actions

The BSC stops sending GPRS system messages so that the PDCH is released in the BSC.

Possible Causes

  • The E1/T1 cable at the Pb interface is not functional.
  • The interface board GEIUP is not operational.
  • The link configuration data of local end is inconsistent with that of the PCU.
  • The signaling link in the PCU is blocked manually or interrupted.
  • The PCU equipment is not operational.

Procedure

  1. Check whether any E1/T1 alarm is reported ( 20081 Loss of E1/T1 Signals (LOS),20082 Loss of E1/T1 Frames (LOF),20083 Remote E1/T1 Alarm (RAI),20084 E1/T1 Alarm Indication Signal (AIS)).

    Y=>Refer to the handling suggestions for clearing E1/T1 alarms.

    N=>Go to 2.

  2. Check whether the interface board between the local end and the PCU is functioning normally.

    Y => Go to 3.

    N => Reset the interface board. If the alarm persists, contact the Huawei Customer Service Center.

  3. Check whether the link configuration data of the local end is consistent with that of the PCU.

    Y => Go to 4.

    N => Modify the configuration data in the PCU or in the BSC to ensure that the PCU configuration data is consistent with the BSC configuration data.

  4. Contact PCU maintenance engineers to check whether the signaling link at the PCU is manually blocked.

    Y => The alarm handling is complete.

    N => Go to 5.

  5. Contact PCU maintenance engineers to check whether the PCU equipment is faulty.

    Y => The alarm is cleared. The alarm handling is complete.

    N => Please contact Huawei Customer Service Center.
