7 Alarm Attribute

0=Normal, Alarms period are longer than the Transient Threshold.

1=Transient Count, The times and the period of the alarms whose periods are shorter than the Transient Threshold are summed up. If the sum result is longer than the Alarm Occurrence Period Threshold or Alarm Occurrence Times Threshold, an alarm so called Transient Count Alarm is triggered. Because Transient Count Alarm is based on accumulative result, the recovery of the alarm may occur at least one Summing Cycle later. The Summing Cycle can be query by MML "LST STATSLDWIN".

The services may be disrupted.

System Actions

  • Handling of the active board in active/standby mode: Perform switchover if the standby board is ready for the operation.
  • Handling of the standby board in active/standby mode: None.
  • For the board that works in independent mode: Board is set to be unusable.

Possible Causes

  • The peer board that carries the faulty link is reset.
  • The clock signals transmitted to the service board from the GSCU are faulty.
  • The local board is not securely inserted.
  • The peer board that carries the faulty link is not in position or not securely inserted.
  • The local board is faulty.
  • The peer board that carries the faulty link is faulty.
  • The backplane is faulty.

Procedure

  1. Check whether the peer board is reset.

    Y => The peer board is reset. This indicates that the alarm is caused by the reset of the peer board. The alarm handling is complete.

    N => The peer board is not reset. Go to 2.

  2. Check whether an alarm related to the clock is generated on the GSCU.

    Y => Go to 3.

    N => Go to 4.

  3. Clear the clock alarm on the GSCU according to its relevant handling suggestions, and then check whether the alarm is cleared.

    Y => The alarm is cleared. The alarm handling is complete.

    N => The alarm is not cleared. Go to 4.

  4. Secure the local board and the peer board that carries the faulty link, and then check whether the alarm is cleared.

    Y => The alarm is cleared. The alarm handling is complete.

    N => The alarm is not cleared. Go to 5.

  5. Replace the faulty board. Check whether this alarm is cleared.

    Y => The alarm is cleared. The alarm handling is complete.

    N => The alarm is not cleared. Go to 6.

  6. Replace the peer board that carries the faulty link. Check whether this alarm is cleared.

    Y => The alarm is cleared. The alarm handling is complete.

    N => The alarm is not cleared. Please contact Huawei Customer Service Center.
