Description

A TRX reports this alarm when detecting a failure in its processor.

Impact on the System

All the services on the TRX will be interrupted upon occurrence of this alarm.

System Actions

  • The TMU will reset the TRX upon occurrence of this alarm. It will reset the TRX in 30 minutes if it has reset it 50 times.
  • If the TRX carries a BCCH, the system will start BCCH mutual-assistance.

Possible Causes

  • TRX software failure.
  • FPGA logic failure.
  • DSP software failure or DSP mailbox communication failure.

Procedure

  1. Check the Related Alarms

    On the LMT, check whether the ALM-2166 TRX Clock Prompt Alarm is reported.

    Y=> Handle ALM-2166 TRX Clock Prompt Alarm. Check whether the alarm is cleared.

    N=> Go to step 2.

  2. Check the Software Version

    Check whether the software version is correct.

    Y=> Correct. You can infer that the TRX hardware is faulty. Go to step 3.

    N=> Incorrect. Reload the correct software and activate it. If the alarm is cleared, the alarm handling is complete. Otherwise, go to step [3].

  3. Replace the TRX

    Replace the TRX and check whether the alarm is cleared.

    Y=> The alarm is cleared. The alarm handling is complete.

    N=> The alarm is Not cleared. Contact the Huawei Customer Service Center.
