21254 Standby GOMU Abnormal Startup

Description

The standby GOMU starts abnormally.

0=Normal, Alarms period are longer than the Transient Threshold.

1=Transient Count, The times and the period of the alarms whose periods are shorter than the Transient Threshold are summed up. If the sum result is longer than the Alarm Occurrence Period Threshold or Alarm Occurrence Times Threshold, an alarm so called Transient Count Alarm is triggered. Because Transient Count Alarm is based on accumulative result, the recovery of the alarm may occur at least one Summing Cycle later. The Summing Cycle can be query by MML "LST STATSLDWIN".

Impact on the System

  • If the OMU software of both GOMUs are stopped, the external IP address will be released. If the physical IP is unavailable, the BSC cannot be remotely operated.
  • The backup switches of both GOMUs may be disabled.
  • The data configurations of both GOMUs may be changed.

System Actions

None.

Possible Causes

  • The number of GOMUs is one in the data configuration file, that is, the single-GOMU system. However, another GOMU exists in the neighboring slot, whose number of GOMUs is two in the data configuration file and the OMU software is started.
  • The number of GOMUs is two in the data configuration file, that is, the dual-GOMU system. However, another GOMU exists in the neighboring slot, whose number of GOMUs is one in the data configuration file and the OMU software is started.

Procedure

  1. Check whether the active and standby GOMUs switch over after this alarm is generated.

    Y => Contact Huawei Customer Service Center.

    N => Go to 2.

  2. Remove the GOMU whose OMU software is started later and then reset the original GOMU. After the GOMU is restarted, check whether the 801 Data Out of Synchronization alarm exists on the LMT alarm console.

    Y => Contact Huawei Customer Service Center.

    N => Go to 3.

  3. On the LMT alarm console, check whether the 21254 Standby GOMU Abnormal Startup alarm exists.

    Y => Contact Huawei Customer Service Center.

    N => The alarm handling is complete.
