ALM-4128 RX/TX PLL out of Lock

Description

This alarm is reported when the send phase-lock loop and receive phase-lock loop in the Carrier Module cannot output the working frequency needed.

Impact on the System

The services may not be influenced for the send phase-lock loop and receive phase-lock loop both have backups.

System Actions

Check if the alarm is cleared every certain period of time.

Possible Causes

Faulty hardware

Procedure

  1. Check other relevant alarms.

    Check if the LMT reports ALM-4184 TRX Clock Critical Alarm.

    Y=> if exist, Handle the alarm. Check if the alarm is cleared.

    N=> if not, Go to Step 2.

  2. Check if ALM-4184 TRX Clock Critical Alarm is reported.

    Check if the LMT reports ALM-4184 TRX Clock Critical Alarm.

    Y=> if exist, Handle the alarm. Check if the alarm is cleared.

    N=> if not, Go to Step 3.

  3. Reset the BTS.

    Four-level reset or power-off reset the BTS on the LMT.

    (Power-off reset is recommended.) Then check if the alarm is cleared.

    Y=> The alarm is cleared. Alarm Handling is completed.

    N=> The alarm is not cleared. Go to Step 4.

  4. Plug out and in the main control module and the DTRU.

    Power off the BTS, plug out and in and secure the contacts between the modules and the backplane. Power on again and see if the alarm is cleared.

    Y=> The alarm is cleared. Alarm Handling is completed.

    N=> The alarm is not cleared. The faulty may lie in faulty DTRU or main control module hardware. Please contact Huawei Customer Service Center.
