Impact on the System

The DTRU connected to the DUP Unit stops outputting power when the alarm is triggered. The services will recover only after the alarm is cleared and the DTRU is manually reset.

System Actions

None.

Possible Causes

  • The connections of the antenna feeder transmit channel are faulty.
  • The DUP Unit hardware is faulty.

Procedure

  1. Reset the DUP Unit. Check whether the alarm is cleared.

Y => The alarm is cleared. The alarm handling is complete.

N => The alarm is not cleared. Go to 2.

  2. Check the cable connections between the antenna port of the duplexer and the antenna.
    1. Check the channel corresponding to Sub No. in the alarm parameters.
    2. Check the connections between the jumper and the duplexer, between the jumper and the feeder, between the jumper and the surge protector, and between the jumper and the antenna.

Y => All the connections are good. Go to 3.

N => A connection is not secured. Go to step c.

    3. Tighten the loosened connectors. Reset the DUP Unit. Check whether the alarm is cleared.

Y => The alarm is cleared. The alarm handling is complete.

N => The alarm is not cleared. Go to step d.

    4. Check whether the water leaks into the connectors between the jumper and the duplexer, between the jumper and the feeder, between the jumper and the surge protector, and between the jumper and the antenna.

Y => There is water leakage. Go to step e.

N => There is no water leakage. Go to 3.

    5. Block the cell.
    6. Replace the connector where water leakage occurs and conduct waterproof protection on the new connector in compliance with related engineering standards.
    7. Unblock the cell.
    8. Reset the DUP Unit. Check whether the alarm is cleared.

Y => The alarm is cleared. The alarm handling is complete.

N => The alarm is not cleared. Go to 3.

  3. Replace the duplexer.

Replace the duplexer. Check whether the alarm is cleared.

Y => The alarm is cleared. The alarm handling is complete.

N => The alarm is not cleared. Go to 4.

  4. Check the antenna VSWR.
    1. Measure the VSWR by using the related instrument at the antenna port of the duplexer. Locate whether the fault occurs on the jumper, surge protector, feeder, TMA, or the antenna.
    2. Replace the faulty component. Check whether the alarm is cleared.

Y => The alarm is cleared. The alarm handling is complete.

N => The alarm is not cleared. Contact Huawei Customer Service Center.

      NOTE:

Locate the fault by using the preceding method. For example, if the measured VSWR of the jumper at the antenna port of the duplexer is abnormal, you can infer that the VSWR alarm is caused by the duplexer. The faults of other components can be located in the same way.

      NOTE:

Reset the TRX to restore the services.
