Description

This alarm is triggered when T_ALOS (analog signal loss) or E1_LOS (line signal loss) occurs to the 2M interface of the TEU.

Impact on the System

When this alarm occurs, services over the corresponding E1 channels are interrupted.

System Actions

None.

Possible Causes

  • E1 distribution cable connecting TEU, TDU and TMU or that from TEU to other devices is faulty.
  • The board connecting TEU tributary interface fails to send E1 signals properly.
  • TEU tributary interface circuit fails.

Procedure

  1. Check TEU tributary interfac circuit

    At the corresponding tributary port, perform self-loop test for the TEU with E1 self-loop cable. Log onto the the TEU with transmission NM. Double click the icon of the TEU to display the Board Position diagram. Click the [Function] pull-down menu in the diagram and select "Query Current Alarm", and then select "View Current Alarm" to display all alarms occuring to the TEU. Check whether there are the T_ALOS (Analog Signal Loss) alarm or the E1_LOS (Line Signal Loss) alarm. Replace the TEU if any. View whether the alarm is cleared.

    Y=> The alarm handling ends.

    N=> Go to Step 2.

  2. Check the E1 cable from the TEU to the TDU

    Check whether the E1 cable connecting the alarming tributary port is in correct connection, and whether E1 transmission performance is normal. Correct the connection or replace the E1 cable if necessary.

    Y=> The alarm handling ends.

    N=> Go to Step3.

  3. Check whether the TMU tributary sends E1 signals correctly.

    Replace the TMU and view whether the alarm is cleared.

    Y=> The alarm handling ends.
