Once the transmission optimization is implemented in the BTS, all the user-plane information is carried on the HDLC paths. One HDLC path with sufficient bandwidth can support the traffic from 24 TRXs, and the BTS schedules the resources based on the service type and service priority. To measure the counters such as load rate and compression factor of the paths, the traffic of the packets to be transmitted must be measured.
The BTS reports the measurement information to the BSC for processing only when transmission optimization is implemented in the BTS.
