Select the Quick tab of the 3D Box Plots dialog to specify the variables to use in your graph as well as to select from a limited number of graph types, grouping intervals and middle point values. For more options, use the Advanced tab.
Variables. Click the Variables button to display the standard variable selection dialog, in which you select the grouping and dependent variables for the graph. The selection that you make will then be displayed in the area of the tab below of the Variables button.
Graph type. Select one of two types of 3D box plots to be plotted from the Graph type list on this tab. Click the desired plot link below for a brief description of that type of graph. More graph types are available on the Advanced tab.
Grouping Intervals. Use the options in this group box to choose the method of categorization for each of the selected variables. Each of the methods is discussed in Method of Categorization. Note that only four categorization methods are available from this tab: Integer mode, Unique Values mode, Categories, and Codes. For more categorization methods, select the Advanced tab.
Middle Point. In box and whisker plots, first select the desired middle point to be represented by the selected style (point or line) in these plots (the middle point can be either the Mean or Median of the selected variable). Options for specifying Whiskers are available on the Advanced tab.
Pooled Variance. When you select the Mean as the middle point, you can choose to use the pooled variance of the variables when calculating the ranges by selecting the Pooled Variance check box. Clear this check box if you want to use separate variance estimates for each variable.
Graph Icon. The graph icon in the middle of the tab represents the currently selected Graph Type, as well as the selection of values for the Middle Point and Whiskers (see the Advanced tab). The graph icon previews these three selections.
