Reverse Engineering Wizard

Reverse engineering is the process of examining a program's source code to recover information about its design. The Reverse Engineering Wizard extracts information on Visual FoxPro classes and uses it to generate or update a model representing an application's logical structure.

This wizard is available for registered Visual FoxPro owners at the Visual FoxPro web site: http://www.microsoft.com/vfoxpro.

In the Reverse Engineering Wizard, you specify one or more source Visual FoxPro project (.pjx) or class library (.vcx) files and the destination Microsoft Visual Modeler object model (.mdl) file.

The Reverse Engineering Wizard next provides access to the source class libraries so that you can specify which classes the exported model contains. After you specify the elements of the object model you want to export, the wizard allows you to save the model, create a diagram in the new model, and open the model to display the results of the wizard.

To run the Reverse Engineering Wizard

  1. On the Tools menu, click Wizards, and then click All.

  2. In the Wizard Selection dialog box, choose Reverse Engineering Wizard.
