Apply any of Paint Shop Pro’s effects to raster text to create an endless variety of looks. Apply a drop shadow or a beveled edge, turn text into brush strokes or colored chalk. For vector text, convert it into a raster selection, and then apply effects.

How to Apply Effects |
Raster |
Create the raster text on a transparent layer, separate from other raster data in the image. Select the text on the layer using the Magic Wand tool, and then apply any of the commands on the Effects menu. |
Vector |
Use the Object Selection tool to select the text. Choose Selections > From Vector Object to create a raster selection of the text, then choose Paste > As New Layer. Follow the steps above for raster text. Turn off the visibility of the vector text, but keep the vector text in case you want to edit it. |
