Sample Set

You can select Sample Set for Job Type on the Paper/Output tab.

Use this feature when you send a multiple-copy job. You can print a sample copy of the job and hold the remaining copies of the job at the printer. After you review the sample copy, you can release or delete the remaining copies.

Note: Documents held for an extended period of time are deleted automatically. The network administrator configures the time limit.

Note: Sample Set is also part of the Earth Smart settings. Automatically uses the Sample Set feature, using less paper, toner or ink. Use this feature when you send a multiple-copy job. You can print a sample copy of the job and hold the remaining copies of the job at the printer. After you review the sample copy, you can release or delete the remaining copies.

To release or delete the remaining copies at the printer:

1. Press the Job Status button on the printer's control panel. The Active Jobs tab appears.
2. Press the name of a job that has the status Held: Sample Requested. The job highlights.
3. Press Release to print the job.
