To edit an xref in a separate window

1. Click View tab Palettes panel External References Palette.
2. In the External References palette, select the reference name that you want to edit.
3. Right-click, and click Open.
4. The selected drawing reference is opened in a new window where you can edit the drawing, save it, and then close the drawing.
