To lock or unlock a layer

1. Click Home tab Layers panel Layer Properties.
2. In the Layer Properties Manager, click the padlock for the layers that you want to lock.
3. Click OK.

   If the padlock is closed, the layer is locked and objects on that layer cannot be selected.
