The alarm is triggered when neither phase-lock loop in a TRX is available.

Impact on the System

The TRX cannot work normally upon occurrence of this alarm.

System Actions

None.

Possible Causes

  • The TRX is damaged.
  • The TDU is damaged.
  • The TMU is damaged.
  • The cable connected with the backplane of the TRX is loose or damaged.
  • The backplane is damaged.

Procedure

  1. Check whether the TRX is faulty

    Replace the TRX and check whether the alarm is cleared.

    Y=> The alarm handling ends.

    N=> Go to Step 2.

  2. Check whether the TDU is faulty

    Check whether such correlated alarms as ALM-2166 TRX Clock Prompt Alarm, ALM-2136 Test Phase-Lock Loop Alarm, ALM-2118 TRX Software Running Abnormal Alarm and ALM-2204 TRX Communication Alarm exist in the alarm management system. If yes, replace the TDU and check whether the original alarm is cleared.

    Y=> The alarm handling ends.

    N=> Go to Step 3.

    If no such alarms are reported, go to Step [3].

  3. Check whether the TMU is faulty

    Replace the active and standby TMUs. Check whether the alarm is cleared.

    Y=> The alarm handling ends.

    N=> Go to Step 4.

  4. Check whether the cable connected with the backplane is loose or damaged

    Remove and re-insert the cable or replace it with a normal one. Check whether the alarm is cleared

    Y=> The alarm handling ends.

    N=> Go to Step 5.

  5. Check whether the backplane is faulty

    Replace the TRB and CMB. Check whether the alarm is cleared.

    Y=> The alarm handling ends.

    N=> Huawei Customer Service Center.
