ALM-4170 Frame or TS number alarm

Description

The frame number and timeslot number generated by the FPGA are detected once every 2.4s. This alarm is reported when the detected frame number or timeslot number is discontinuous.

Impact on the System

The TRX board with the alarm cannot work and the carried services are disrupted.

System Actions

The power amplifier of the TRX board is shut down. The TRX mutual aiding is enabled if the alarm occurs in the BCCH TRX board.

Possible Causes

  • The TRX board is faulty.
  • The main controlling module is faulty.
  • The signal transfer board is faulty.

Procedure

  1. Reset the TRX based on the detailed alarm information. Then, check whether the alarm is cleared.

    Y => The alarm is cleared. No further action is required.

    N => The alarm is not cleared. Go to procedure 2.

  2. Replace the TRX. Then, check whether the alarm is cleared.

    Y => The alarm is cleared. No further action is required.

    N => The alarm is not cleared. Go to procedure 3.

  3. Check the main controlling module.

    Replace the main controlling module. Then, check whether the alarm is cleared.

    Y => The alarm is cleared. No further action is required.

    N => The alarm is not cleared. Go to procedure 4.

  4. Check the cables connected to the backplane and the signal transfer board.

    Remove the cables connected to the backplane and the signal transfer board. Install the cables again. Replace the cables if necessary. Then, check whether the alarm is cleared.

    Y => The alarm is cleared. No further action is required.

    N => The alarm is not cleared. Go to procedure 5.

  5. Remove the signal transfer board and install the board again. Then, check whether the alarm is cleared.

    Y => The alarm is cleared. No further action is required.

    N => The alarm is not cleared. Go to procedure 6.

  6. Replace the signal transfer board. Then, check whether the alarm is cleared.

    Y => The alarm is cleared. No further action is required.

    N => The alarm is not cleared. Contact Huawei Customer Service Center.
