Applying Art Media Effects

Apply art media effects to make an image look like it was painted or drawn using pencil, charcoal, or chalk. To limit an effect to a specific area, make a selection before applying the effect.

Important: These effects work on greyscale and 16 million color (24-bit) images only. To increase the color depth of an image, see Increasing the Color Depth of an Image.

To apply an effect:

Choose the effect from the Effects Browser or choose Effects > Art Media Effects and select one of the following effects:

Black Pencil

Brush Strokes

Charcoal

Colored Chalk

Colored Pencil

Pencil
