The edge effects apply to the edges of an image or selection. You can dilate, enhance, erode, find, and trace the edges in an image to create interesting effects. To limit an effect to a specific area, make a selection before applying the effect.
Important: These effects work on greyscale and 16 million color (24-bit) images only. To increase the color depth of an image, see Increasing the Color Depth of an Image.
To apply an effect:
Choose the effect from the Effects Browser or choose Effects > Edge Effects and select one of the following effects:
