Removing Source Defects

Images can contain defects that come from the process of scanning or capturing them.

Important: These commands, work on 16 million color and greyscale images only. To increase the color depth of an image, see Increasing the Color Depth of an Image.

Ways to correct source defects:

Fixing Line Problems in Video Images Use the Deinterlace command to eliminate missing or misaligned lines from your image and to reconstruct missing information. If the image contains noise, it may become more visible after removing scan lines. See Fixing Line Problems in Video Images.

Removing Artifacts from JPEG Images Use the JPEG Artifact Removal command to restore a JPEG image to its original appearance. See Removing Artifacts from JPEG Images.

Removing Undesirable Patterns in Scanned Images The Moiré Pattern Removal command removes undesirable patterns from scanned images. See Removing Undesirable Patterns in Scanned Images.
