Adding New Layers to Images

There are many ways to add layers to images. Create a new layer, promote the background to a raster layer, duplicate an existing layer, or make a selection and turn it into a layer. And when you use the vector drawing tools, the Text tool, or any of the Art Media tools, new layers are automatically created.

Note: An image must be greyscale or 16 million color to create adjustment layers or more than one raster layer. If you have an image of another color depth, Paint Shop Pro prompts you to convert it to 16 million colors when you try to add a new adjustment or raster layer.
