A Interface Paging Measurement per BSC

Description

A Interface Paging Measurement per Cell contains the measurement counters related to the paging messages from the core network (CN).

The paging requests received by the BSC can be CS paging or PS paging from the CN. The BSC connects to the network subsystem through A interface or Gb interface. The CS paging messages are sent over the A interface from the MSC to the BSC, and the PS paging messages are sent over the Gb interface from the SGSN to the PCU and then BSC, or directly to the BSC with a built-in PCU. If the Gs interface between the MSC and the SGSN is available, the CS paging messages can also be forwarded by the SGSN, to the PCU and then to the BSC, or directly to the BSC with a built-in PCU. The networking of the BSC, MSC, and SGSN is shown in Figure 1.
