This describes how to add a common BTS in HDLC/HUB transmission mode for the BSC, and how to configure the site device attributes, cell basic attributes, and TRX attributes.
Scenario | BSC initial configuration and BSC capacity expansion |
Mandatory/Optional | Mandatory |
BTSs in HDLC transmission mode do not support the Config AbisByPass function. BTSs in HUB transmission mode do not support the Config Ring or Config AbisByPass function. In addition, the multiplexing ratio of a BTS in HDLC/HUB mode should not exceed 4:1 During the initial configuration of a BTS in HDLC/HUB transmission mode, the multiplexing ratio is 4:1 by default.
Only the BTS3012, BTS3012AE, BTS3006C, BTS3002E, and BTS3012 II support the HDLC transmission mode.
Only the BTS3012, BTS3012AE, and BTS3012 II support the HUB transmission mode.
The following procedure takes how to add a BTS in HUB transmission mode to the GEHUB in the GEPS.

The Support Separate option is available only to the BTS3012, BTS3012 II, and BTS3012AE. When Support Separate is selected, the BTS3012, BTS3012 II, and BTS3012AE can be optionally configured with DTRUs or QTRUs.
If Service Mode of a BTS is set to HDLC and Backup OML is set to Yes, then you need to select Configure Chain in Figure 7 after you add a cell.
To add multiple cells at a time, set Number of Cells. The added cells are named in the format of current Cell Name + sequence number.
