With 3ds Max, you can create both simple and complex crowd scenes with bipeds and characters. In this tutorial, you'll learn how to set up both types of biped crowd simulations.
The first lesson covers a basic crowd scene setup; the remaining lessons will show you how to create multiple characters and use them together in a sophisticated scene. Starting with a single panda character, you'll create several pandas of different sizes and colors. Then you'll make the pandas move through the scene, following specific behaviors while avoiding collisions with one another.
To create the crowd behavior, you'll need a motion flow graph with multiple motion clips and transitions. As it solves the simulation, the crowd system will choose the best clips to apply to each biped in the context of the scene.
